Our Phlebotomy Technician program immerses you in a learning environment that mirrors real medical settings, combining hands-on training in professional-grade labs with focused, in-depth classroom instruction.
The curriculum moves from basics to advanced practices—you'll learn precise blood collection methods, understand lab safety protocols, and practice patient communication skills. Our healthcare professionals teach in small groups, giving you direct feedback as you practice. Choose morning or night classes to fit your schedule.
The hands-on training happens in fully equipped facilities, like medical labs, using the same tools you'll encounter in the field. After three months, you'll be ready for the national certification exam, backed by thorough preparation and real-world experiences. NCC’s Phlebotomy Technician School is intensive, practical, and designed for people who appreciate learning by doing.

A Phlebotomy Technician collects blood specimens via venipunctures and dermal punctures. They also are responsible for other types of specimen collection, including urine, sputum, and drug testing, to name just a few. Phlebotomists play a vital role in patient care and well-being. You can possibly be employed at laboratory facilities such as Quest, LabCorp, blood donation centers, dialysis centers, and hospitals.
The Phlebotomy program is a 12-week program that starts every 3 months at Northwest Career College.
The Phlebotomy Technician program requires the student to have a high school diploma or a GED to begin the program. Once accepted into the program, the student must successfully complete all modules and take a nationally recognized certification exam (CPT~Certified Phlebotomy Technician) accredited through National Healthcareer Association (NHA). PASS the certification exam and graduate with a 70% or higher. Once the student passes their CPT, the Phlebotomy Career Services advisor will submit an application for the student to be granted their Nevada State Lab Assistant License, which is needed to work as a Phlebotomist in the state of Nevada.
