Administration of VA Education Benefits

At Northwest Career College, we are proud to support our veterans and military service members in pursuing their educational goals. This policy applies to any Covered Individual who is entitled to educational assistance under Chapter 31 (Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment) or Chapter 33 (Post-9/11 GI Bill(R) benefits.

Participation in Courses

Northwest Career College allows any Covered Individual to attend and participate in their courses while waiting for payment from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This period begins when the individual provides NCC with a certificate of eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under Chapter 31 or 33. A certificate of eligibility can also include a "Statement of Benefits" obtained from the VA’s eBenefits website or a VAF 28-1905 form for Chapter 31 authorization purposes.

This period will end on the earlier of the following two dates:

  • The date on which payment from the VA is made to NCC.
  • 90 days after the date the college certifies tuition and fees following receipt of the certificate of eligibility.

No Penalties for Delayed VA Payments

Northwest Career College will not impose any penalties on Covered Individuals due to delayed disbursement of VA funding. This includes:

  • No assessment of late fees
  • No denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities.
  • No requirement to secure additional funding or loans to cover tuition and fees while awaiting VA disbursements.

Our commitment is to ensure that veterans and military service members can focus on their education without the burden of financial concerns caused by delayed payments from the VA.
